Nerd

A nerd is someone who is extremely passionate about a certain subject matter or topic. It can be anything from Pokemon cards to books but this person will devote many hours to this topic and know many random facts that a normal person wouldn't. Contrary to popular belief a nerd is not always someone who wants to be isolated or can't interact with another human because of their social awkwardness. Nerds come in all forms with all different kinds of personalities.

Guy: She's a total nerd; I like it. Maybe she will be as passionate about being in bed with me as she is over science.

Nerd Table

A table in a college or university canteen/cafeteria that is located beside several power outlets. Commonly claimed by several science students or other computer geeks and manned/womaned almost all day by at least one person. If an outsider sits near them for the purpose of using a free outlet it is considered very rude to those in the nerd group.

Dan: Sh#t, my laptop battery's almost dead but there's no free nerd tables.

Jim: Just sit over there with those ones, they won't bite.

Nerd

A nerd is a highly intelligent being. They are smarter than average and enjoy learning about certain/all topics. And no, they are not all just people wearing tucked shirts, suspenders, glasses, button-up shirts, skinny jeans etc (while they can it is rare). Nerds come in all forms, athletic, ugly, pretty, fat, skinny, black, white, asian, strong, weak, annoying, you name it. Not all, but many nerds are a social outcast. A person i would associate this label with is young sheldon
