I'm tired

A short phrase (with variations such as "i'm pretty tired") used as a simple explanation when a person doesn't want to do something but won't tell you the actual reason as to why - usually used as a replacement for "i can't be bothered" or "i don't want to". Also used as a form of rejection without openly saying it.

A: Hey man, you still coming to the pub tonight?
B: Nah.... i'm feeling pretty tired now.
A: You woman...

Guy: Hey.. d'you want to go out for dinner tonight?
Girl: Um.. nah.. I'm tired.. sorry
Guy: Oh, well, how about tomorrow?
Girl: No.. I.. have to wash my hair...

Oh, she's just tired 

A poor excuse by bad parents who don't discipline their kids when they misbehave. Generally, that excuse only works once but not every day.

Mindy: Come here, Carrie! (Picks her up)

Carrie: (kicks and screams) WHAAAAAAAHHHH!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! NO!! WAAAAAAAAAA!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! (hits Mindy in the face a few times)

Mindy: What's wrong with Carrie?

Carrie's mom: Oh, she's just tired...she didn't get her nap today...

Mindy: But she acted like this yesterday when she DID get her nap!!!!

Politically correct way of saying that you look like shit.

Showed up real early at a swim meet the other day, this guy says, "you look tired". What he meant to say was, "you look like shit".

blackout tired 

after pulling an all-nighter, not being able to remember anything that happens until noon the next day, losing all control of motor skills, drooling all over your notes in class...at least until noon, and being convinced that "Wolfpack, are organized" is a complete sentence

Guy: Look at these notes I took in my 8:30 class.
Anne: Wow...they're pretty...interesting. If I can directly quote from your notes: 'Wolfpack, are organized."
Guy: Don't hate. I was blackout tired.

That feeling when you're buzzed from too much caffeine but it's not helping; you're still tired as hell.
