snooch

A small, filled cake usually served with hot tea in polite societies. Snooch may be frosted or dry, but is usually filled with a jelly or jam.

During high tea, it is common for the host to offer a plate of snooch to her guests.

"Would you ladies like some snooch," asked Gretchen. "Why of course," said Shiela, adding, "snooch goes so well with distinctive Earl Grey."
