Chicago Politics

Commonly referred to on CNN in relation to the Obama presidential campaign, but never explained because journalists are to afraid too explain it. There is a good reason. Chicago politics are incredibly corrupt, dead people still vote, big businesses get "incentives", and friends of the politicians get jobs, money, cars ect. However bad this may sound, Chicago is the city that works, even its corruption works, surprisingly well actually; so much so that people make light of the dead vote, the jobs, and the dynasty like families that run the city. Chicagoans love it, because "Chicago Politics" have produced one of the best, most beautiful, and unique cities in the world where a poor man of mixed race, raised by a single parent can become a world icon.

Occurs when there is an election in the near future, and everyone uses facebook to describe their political allegiances and affiliations. Usually results in many chatting bullshit and things they read from Wikipedia.

Man 1: Oh My God, a conservative government would be awful.
Man 2: Why?!
Man 1: Err......Thatcher?
Man 2: Fucking Facebook Politics

Man 1: No way! Obama is such a communist!
Man 2: Do you know what a communist is?
Man 1: Isn't it like a Nazi?

Politics using information found on google or any other mainstream media source. Usually used by people wishing to defend political views that can't be supported by actual facts.

That person doesn't know what they're talking about; you can tell by their blatant use of google politics.

applicative politics

A political view that has a direct effect on one's personal life such as cannabis legalization or gay marriage. It does not make other politics such as foreign affairs any less important. Rather, it speaks for the issues that are most important in one persons life. Does not necessarily represent a liberal viewpoint, as they could be against cannabis legalization.

Politically obsessed person: "If you don't care about the financial involment overseas, then you are a turd-eating liberal!!"
Rational and sane person: "I am neither a liberal or conservative, I just care more about cannabis being legal for me to partake than what happens with the goverment budget. I guess its what you would call applicative politics- politics that actually matter."
