The Friend Zone

This is the worst position someone can be in, if they have feelings for someone. When a person develops romantic feelings for someone, but the other person only sees the relationship as just being friends. Because the two are around each other a lot, the one in love will harbor his/her feelings for the others. Only to become completely comsumed by this person. This leads to the one in love to complain to all his/her friends about the situation, and to become "pussy whipped" by they other.
Tom meets Amy, and falls in love. But Amy does not hold the same feelings. Therefore the two become friends, and thats it. Now Tom, being around Amy and just friends, harbors his romantic feelings for her. He then will become "pussy whipped" by her, and complain to all his friends about his feelings for her. At this point Tom should realize he is in the Friend Zone and move on.

Friend Zone

“The ‘friend zone’ is like the penalty box of dating, only you can never get out. Once a girl decides you’re her ‘friend,’ it’s game over. You’ve become a complete non-sexual entity in her eyes, like her brother, or a lamp.” - Ryan Reynolds in Just Friends
'I've been locked in the friend zone with her since highschool!'

Friend Zone

A term often used in bitterness by men when women make the choice to not fuck someone. Often used by douchebags or people with Nice Guy Syndrome.
I went to the friend zone once to make some friends but it was just a bunch of angry mens' rights activists wearing fedoras.

friend zone

The friend zone is the mythical place where a man is put into despite known/unknown sexual/romantic feelings for a woman. Everybody then thinks of the woman as a bitch or rude, even though she really just doesn't have any romantic/sexual feelings for the man, but thinks he's a great person and wants to be friends with him.
Alex: Oh man, Sheila just friendzoned you so hard! The friend zone sucks! She's such a bitch, any girl would be lucky to have you!
Ted: I know, man. I irrationally hate her now.
~
Sheila: Ted is such a great guy, I'm lucky to be friends with him!
Cassandra: I know! Would you mind setting me up on a date with him?
Sheila: Sure! I think it would be great if he was in a relationship with someone! I would date him myself, but I don't have any romantic or sexual feelings for him. But you would make a great girlfriend!

Friendzoned

friendzoned is basically a preemptive rejection where people get too comfortable with someone and see them as only a special conversation/sharing info partner 'a friend' and unconsciously reject the person as a sexual opportunity and would be shocked and appalled if that was brought up
1)Becky shares too much with me. She told me how she comes on to people, then did those actions towards me, then when I asked her about it, she said she did not notice and told me she saw me as a friend. Got Friendzoned.

2)Susan makes out with lots of guys. You try to be the next one. You start talking with her a lot. You make a sexual joke about you two hooking up. She tells you she does not have a lot of male friends and wants to be friends with you. Got Friendzoned
