The term dog years refers to a popular conception that household pets—specifically dogs and cats—age seven years for each human year.

The year in which you become extremely annoying, either on purpose or without knowing. Year 7s often think that they are better than all the other years. Unless you were sensible enough to know your place and leave the older kids alone, you acted like an ignorant little prick. Especially if you were a skinny high-pitched fly of a boy who challenged the 'big kids' to fights you would surely lose.
Year 10 A: These year 7s are so fuckin annoying, acting like they run the place or some shit. I'm glad I wasn't like that in year 7, I knew my place and left the 'big kids' alone.
Year 10 B: Haha yeah man, but I was annoying as fuck in year 7, would be fighting the older kids half my luchtimes and lose every time. Came home bruised and battered but never learned my lesson.
