The laptop pause is when you are going to turn on your laptop in a public area and hesitate to remember if you left anything embarrassing open the night before.

I had to buy another computer for work only so I wouldn't have to do the laptop pause.

When I was watching the New Spider-Man, I Meta-Paused after they mentioned something I didn't get. I couldn't get it out of my head the entire film and was unable to get the reference until I looked it up later.
