Someone who is ratchet is someone who listens to rap junk, like Nikki Manaj, Lil Wayne, Drake, etc. Someone who is using slang terms like bae, doe, dat, bish, etc., a person who is wearing pounds of makeup just to go the freaking store.

Ratchet means "rat shit ghetto." This term originated amongst many Deep South rappers - namely a song by Lil Boosie called "Do Tha Ratchet"on a 2006 album called "United We Stand, Divided We Fall," but had been in other Boosie mixtapes.

Ratchet refers to generally being from the ghetto.

Messed up and poorly put together. Messy looking things such as makeup, hair, and outfits. Often lay used on social media such as Twitter, YouTube, Vine, and Instagram. Maine people say they look ratchet but they actually look perfect. Some people are REALLY ratchet every day!

My hair looks so "ratchet" today! Ugh.
