Get the rock-a-tudemug. A semi-derogatory term originating in the the UK in the 1970s to describe a band that purports to playing rock music but is not the ‘real-deal’ and is “manufactured” to appear tougher and more gritty than they are.
Usually used when a band reaches a wide audience seemingly through reputation rather than by ability AKA “The Emporer’s new clothes”
These bands are often liked by 15-25 year old males who work in Estate Agents or Building Societies during the week but at weekends put on the obligatory band t shirts which MUST be coloured BLACK (and which can be worn with an optional bandana).
