Not to be confused with Distance (measurement).

Distance is an atmospheric platformer horror racing game published by Refract Studios on December 9, 2014. The game originally started as a Kickstarter project, with the goal of 125,000 USD.

Distance is split into 3 distinct modes:
1) Campaign
2) Sprint
3) Challenge

The Campaign has 3 different storylines: Adventure, Lost to Echoes, and Nexus. Adventure has you driving from Sector 17 to Sector 01a, avoiding all the dangerous traps and distractions the game may throw at you.

Lost to Echoes is a near 1:1 recreation to Team Refract's original game, Nitronic Rush (which, you can still download!). Lost to Echoes has you navigating through a neon-baked cityscape as you delve deeper into the city, eventually discovering what happened.

Nexus is an oddball. Nexus has you driving through 3 challenging levels, with the intent of uploading a data package to a server.

Sprint Mode is a PvP focused mode, where drivers attempt to get the fastest possible times on a track.

Challenge is similar to sprint mode, whereas instead of spaced out checkpoints, the tracks are short (30s-1min) with no checkpoints.

And now, the car. You play as the Spectrum (everyone calls it the Refractor), an ai-powered car. The car has 4 distinct abilities: Boosting, Flight, Jumping, and Rotating.

Distance is an amazing game, I highly suggest you check it out! It's about 20$ on Steam, and it's worth the money!

When you are separated from your girlfriend or boyfriend because of coronavirus, even if you live in the same city.

Creative Distancing

During the COVID-19 pandemic, ways to see your friends or family members who don’t live under your roof either one-on-one or in groups whether it be standing or sitting 6 feet apart from each other and not moving from that spot, meeting in cars in the parking lot, walking or riding bikes together on opposite sides of the street, or holding exercise classes in the street. It is different from rationalized distancing because the people doing it think they are clever and beating the system. They don’t need to explain themselves. However, according to MIT research “mucus and saliva can burst from a person’s mouth at nearly a hundred miles an hour and travel as far as 27 feet.” This method of distancing is flawed, selfish, and breaks all social distancing rules

Those 10 kids who met in the parking lot and practiced creative distancing by staying in their cars all have COVID and gave it to their entire families.

Rationalized Distancing

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when you see your friends or family members who don’t live under your roof either one-on-one or in groups whether it be standing 6 feet apart from each other and not moving from that spot, meeting in cars in the parking lot, walking or riding bikes together on opposite sides of the street, or holding exercise classes in the street. These people are practicing creative distancing, but it is slightly different because people who practice rationalized distancing think it’s okay because they list the precautions they had taken and will argue with those who don’t agree with them—it was only five minutes, they sat 6 feet apart, we monitored their behavior, it was just a playdate, the only other place we go is the grocery store, I’m healthy, we’re all healthy. However, according to MIT research “mucus and saliva can burst from a person’s mouth at nearly a hundred miles an hour and travel as far as 27 feet.” This method of distancing is flawed, selfish, and breaks all social distancing rules.

Joe met up with his two brothers at his house and practiced rationalized distancing by saying it was okay because they only met for 10 minutes. Now, all three brothers and their entire families have Coronavirus.
