There is a large spectrum to why this sentence is used. But there is usually the main reason :
<-> You're upset about life. You get that
weird feeling around your eyebrows, the same feeling when you're about to cry. You feel you've lost everything or you can'
t go on. You wake up every day wondering how you're going to get through it without breaking down.
<-> A lot of people say this but do not mean it, they are simply
sad for a
short period.
<-> Another reason could be, a lack of dopamine, this causes low mood and sadness. It is commonly found in drug users (or addicts of any kind) and people with depression. If you feel
sad all of the time you should go to the doctors or your local GP and find out why.

Definition, but I would
like those who've come here from sadness to remember, you are worth it. You are not
useless and you are NOT stupid. I've gone through a largely rough patch myself, so yes, I know how you're feeling. Trust me, it does get better, even if it's for only a minute. You will have a time where you feel better, I promise.
There's no
example needed. You know how it feels and you know how bad it can be.
