In the coffin

When someone is a metalhead but hasn't told anyone yet.
It's used similarly to In the closet, but it's more metal.

Newfound metalheads fear being ostracized by their friends and family for not adhering to what is commonly considered a "normal music taste". They can spend years in the coffin as a result.

Please help fight this horrible guilt they feel inside and preach for #metalacceptance

Prime Rib: "Good to see you, how are 'ya?"
Striploin: "Kinda something I want to talk to you about, actually."
Prime Rib: "Umm, sure.."
Striploin: "So lately I've been feeling a lot more confident as a person and I feel you should really know something about me that you probably didn't see coming."
Prime Rib: "You're scaring me, dude."
Striploin: "I think I'm a metalhead."
Prime Rib: "Wow. I can't say i'm not surprised. How long have you been in the coffin?

coffin tick or coffin split

Achieving an additional bird species to your Life List by the creation of a new species, by the splitting (upgrading a subspecies to a full species status); but after you die.
This assumes an individual maintains your Life List and monitors the creation of new species from Subspecies you have seen and identified in your Life List.

Though Tom died last year in Panama, seeking to increase his Life List of 7,994 bird species, his wife was able to increase his List to 8,002 species with 8 coffin tick or coffin split due to the IOC upgrading a dozen former subspecies to full species status.

Coffin Party

When a group of people/friends are all "dying" metaphorically (going through a rough period, emotional distress, burn out, etc ) but bonding through the experience or simply acknowledging the vibe of the whole situation. AKA vibing in the coffin together.

A: Wow, everyone's been stressed out recently. I wonder what's going on...
B: Yeah. At least it's a coffin party.
