Talking Heads' most seminal release. Released in 1980, this album draws influence from Nigerian musician Fela Kuti and sees the band members experimenting with African polyrhythms, funk, and electronics. They recorded instrumental tracks as a series of looping grooves, which had never been done before.
Remain in Light was critically acclaimed. Critics praised its sonic experimentation, blending of different genres, and rhythmic innovations. The album peaked at number 19 on the US Billboard 200 and 21 on the UK album charts. The album spawned the single Once in a Lifetime, one of Talking Heads' most famous songs.

Oluchi - What's your favorite Talking Heads album?
Jim - Remain in Light. It's not only my favorite Talking Heads album, it is also my favorite album of all time.

If you are in a room with no windows or other direct sources of light, and if light enters from an adjoining lighted room, the indirect illumination is borrowed light.
We worked in the library and had only the borrowed light from the adjacent room to work with that night.

"Dude, I drank a 12 pack of Keystone Light this weekend and had the shits for 3 days."
"Who needs Exlax when you can just drink Keystone Light? Plus it is cheaper."
