A place that is very nice and quiet during the off-season, but then turns VERY touristy in the summer and early fall. Most of these tourists are gay guys that come from San Francisco. But overall is a very cool place that I call home.(:

Güero

It pretty much means "white person". It doesn't necessarily mean caucasion. If you're Mexican with light skin you may be nicknamed "Güero" for a boy, or "Güera" for a girl. If you have Spanish speaking friends and they say something like "hey güero" it means like "whats up white buddy". If there's some Spanish speaking person that doesn't like you or any white people and says something like "I hate that pinche güero" it may be used as a rude and possibly racist way. Güero isn't a racist or bad word at all, as long as you say it with a positive tone and you dont sound like a jerk.

"¡Qué onda güero!" -What's up white boy!
"Le odio al pinche güero Jack." -I hate the freakin white boy Jack.

guero

I got a lot of this when I taught in East LA. Best usage appears to be "blondy". It wasn't used much in a derogatory sense. I had to learn take it as harmless. He's tall, he's blond, he's a guero. Just descriptive.

Insisting that it be spelled with a diaeresis or trema is absurd. Sometimes "guerro".

A person found at ski resorts that:
1. is not from anywhere near the resort
2. Looks like an idiot on the mountain and takes gigantic turns on flat cat tracks
3. is totally oblivious to the fact that they look like an idiot and are skiing icy bumps directly under the lift when there is powder stashed all over mountain, or stashed in the trees right next to them.

Known for the "gaping" space between their hat and goggles.

Oh no! its presidents day weekend? The gapers will be out in full swing putting up yard sales.
