This term died and then was revived by Jazz musicians and more recently used in rap songs. Naptown now accurately describes the laid back culture of Indianapolis that has spawned from the rural Indiana culture that surrounds it.
Some people also call it naptown due to its "ho hum" party scene in downtown.
