Used to refer to a female fictional character that the user experiences attraction to.

The term originated from the manga Azumanga Daioh, where character Mr Kimura uses the term to refer to his actual wife. (Yes, the original definition is literally just "wife" in Engrish.)

Guy 2: "(insert tangent about Azumanga Daioh)

Waifunatic

Waifunatic (n.) - A person who is completely obsessed with Waifus, or fictional female characters, to the point of being considered eccentric or even creepy. A Waifunatic will often collect a large amount of merchandise related to their favorite Waifus, such as body pillows, figurines, and posters. They may also spend significant time browsing online forums or fan fiction sites, discussing their favourite Waifus with other like-minded individuals. While some may find their obsession strange, a true Waifunatic sees nothing wrong with their love for their favorite fictional characters.

"John is such a Waifunatic; his entire room is covered in posters and figurines of his favorite Waifus, and he spends all his free time browsing online forums and fan fiction sites."
