I remember 1990 Vallejo California we was driving in a lowrider civic hatchback cuz we Asians lol. Anyway the 1980’s was just around the corner and we were still using the word “Fresh” as in something cool. While we were talking I wanted something new to say and said “Slick” my cousin looked at me and laughed and said that’s “Tight” apparently this was the new word going on in the streets of Vallejo. Could be from other places but that’s where he is from and when I first heard it and began using that word.

That is Tight!
