A commonly used abbreviation in the context of the withdrawal of cash, or in describing the essence of time.

Has also on occasion been used as a reference to an unexpected connection between a facial feature and what is typically referred to as the "rear end".

Colloquially refers to a person who lends money or provides financial support, akin to how an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) dispenses cash. This term highlights the expectation that the individual will be readily available to provide funds when needed.
Whenever I'm short on cash, I jokingly call my friend the ATM, knowing I can count on him to lend me money.
