Let's get down to business, to defeat the huns
Did they send me daughters when I asked for sons?
You're the saddest bunch I've ever met
But you can bet before we're through
Mr. I'll Make a Man Outta You
:)

-I helped an old lady cross the street.
-That's great, but it doesn't make up for the fact that you burned down your house on purpose and almostshot your boyfriend. One bird doesn't make a spring.
-Okay Maria, you don't have to be a bitch about it.

Girl asking her boyfriend/husband if he likes her looks. No right answer can possibly come of this. Usually followed by screaming or noise as hand/fist/foot connects with husband/boyfriend's body part.

To take advantage of a brief opportunity while it is still there. To not waste time.
The saying comes from farming communities. There would often be only a short time in which the hay would be ready to cut- reap too soon, and the hay would be too green. Reap too late, and you run the risk of rain ruining it all. Still very good advice.

I just got a good job for the summer- I don't know if I'll have one this fall, but I'll make hay while the sun shines and save up for the winter.
