At certain UK universities, to force someone who falls into a specified category to drink. Often a part of formal meals and crew dates, the aim is to encourage excessive alcohol consumption. When 'sconced', those to whom the sconce applies must stand and take a large gulp of whatever alcoholic drink they are on.

Scotch

While it is grammatically correct to refer to a person of Scottish descent as "Scotch", the Scotch people are known to get worked-up into a frenzy at its utterance. Conversely, the Scotch people have no issue with their culinary or alcoholic creations being referred to as such. "Scotch" is the only term known to offend a people not normally prone to sensitivity toward politically correct language.

used to refer to someone that cheat someone else who's acting dishonestly (e.g. someone's trying to cheat/swindle/fuck you and you are smart enough to realize it and take your own advantage).
