A character in a film which has been developed from different source material i.e. film or comic, who is killed off far too easily or has their character so dramatically changed that they bear little or no resembleance to the original characterisation

Man 1: Dude did you see the Wolverine film yet?
Man 2: Yeah, was brilliant, shame about Deadpool though.
Man 1: Yeah he total canon fodder.
