It is in reference to the amount of money a typical black male would earn in a year at an 8 hour hour a day, 5 day a week job, making minimum wage (new york state). At present day 7.15 x 8 = 57.2 a day...57.2 x 8 = 286 a week ... 286 x 53 = $14,872 in a year...thus the amount of guap at the present rate is $14,872 in previous years when minimum wage was at 5.15 an hour a guap was equivilent to $10,712. As a sign of the times a quap has risen with inflation.
