remote reflex

The lightning fast,cat-like reflex of grabbing the remote control to mute or change channels when an uber annoying commercial comes on the TV. Can be anything from a Jennifer Hudson Weight Watcher promo,to a hard-to-watch starving child,animal abuse or child with whooping cough spot.

My remote reflex has been timed at 15/100 of a second.

Remoteitis

A disease that afflicts children and spouses who grab the remote control of a TV set and keep changing channels at incredible speed. Symptoms are completely at variance with rheumatism or arthritis and worsen in the evening and can only be treated by permanently disabling the remote control.

Jack's wife and son have remoteitis which prevents him from seeing any channel properly on TV almost every evening.

This is a “nardism” created on October 2, 2012 as heard on the Tampa Bay Florida area radio station 102.5 The Bone as well as other syndicated stations. The term is used to express ones intent to recoup and re-gather ones thoughts after becoming flustered and or confused.

As used after becoming nervous and upset after an argument; “give me a minute, I have to regatherate”.
