A scape-goat word that people use when they are too afraid of what society will think of them for saying that they don't believe in a "god".
Uber Religious Friend: "Hey Buddy, wanna go to church with me instead of hanging out and playing video games today?"
Guy who doesn't believe in god at all but is scared of what his friend will think: "ooh, I'm agnostic.. I don't think I'll go today but maybe next time!" (knowing he'll never go because he doesn't believe in god AT ALL)

Get the agnostic mug.1. An intellectually sound position on a given idea (or thing, or subject, etc.) for which evidence for it's existence is insufficient.
2. The intellectually sound qualifier that most people who understand the meaning of the word put at the beginning of their given religious classification.
3. An atheist who doesn't like the word "atheist".
4. An atheist who thinks the definition of "atheist" is one who claims to know there are no gods.
5. An atheist who doesn't know that the definition of "atheist" is one who does not believe in any gods.
6. A word fought over by all manner of agnostics, atheists and Theists; meaningless minutia.

Get the agnostic mug.The only religion/ non-religion where people give up on explaining on (what they consider to be) inexplicable. Essentially, an agnostic will tell you not to study the principles of different religion or the tenets of atheism, because there is no way that that agnostic can be satisfied with a definitive answer.
