The intellectual or rhetorical practice of saving a flawed, disproven, or failing theory by continuously piling on ad-hoc, reactionary sub-stories and excuses. Rather than addressing the core error, the speaker builds a precarious structure of secondary explanations, resulting in a top-heavy argument bound for structural collapse.

This is just narrative stacking. You are just piling up one just-so story on top of the next. Your theory becomes increasingly convoluted, making it impossible to falsify. It's time to admit your theory failed twenty minutes ago.
