Gwen Stefani says in her song "Hollaback Girl" she is not a holla back girl, implying that she will fight if challenged.

From an interview: “The song came about after somebody once called me a cheerleader in a negative light, “ says Gwen (Stefani). “So I said ‘well f*** you, I am a cheerleader, watch me on stage. I’m gonna make a big cheerleader song and you can f*** off.”

A Hollaback Girl is someone who spreads rumours and talks tough, but doesn't back up their words with action. The cheerleader theme comes in because this kind of behavior is typical in high school.

The hollaback girl is talking about Gwen behind her back. Gwen finds out and replies that she's not just going to "holla back," she's going to kick her ass.
