microsoft windows

despite what you hear, a pretty decent operating system (although its probably not worth 200 dollars...). It works fine, its very n00b friendly, and all it takes to install a program is a double click. yes, it crashes (of course windows me crashes a lot more...). so does linux, mac, freebsd, solaris... all operating systems crash. People who complain about it crashing are people who try to tinker with it. windows isnt made for tinkering, otherwise it would be open source. you wanna mess with stuff get gentoo freebsd. i've leave my windows machine on for months and it works just as fine as my notebook with linux on it. if windows were as bad as linux zealots said then it wouldnt be able to be sold for 200 bucks.
almost anything you do in any operating system an be done in any other operating system. just get the one you think has the prettiest gui.

example must include the term microsoft windows

to all you jack-offs who claim windows never crashes if used by anyone with more than half a brain: here is proof that it does. This is a movie clip of someone who works for microsoft showing off windows and having if fail and go to the blue screen of death. enjoy!

Windows

A series of computer operating systems that, despite what you may read from several other sources on here, are quite stable, very easy to use, and are the most compatible operating systems I know of.
I have been running with my copy of Windows XP without rebooting for over 3 months now, and it is still working fine. Yeah, I have used ctrl+alt+delete a couple of times, but that was just because I got a file from a former friend, while he was still a friend, including a virus, and I trusted him so I didn't bother scanning and it wasn't recognized by Norton, so I just looked at my processes and ended it, and my computer works fine now. (that was over 2 months ago)

How about this for some variety (and truth, more importantly). Contrary to the unintelligible grunts of the brainless morons who have posted 99% of the definitions regarding this word (they clearly need to ease off on all the Haterade), Microsoft Windows XP/2000/Server 2003 is by far the best series of OSs ever made. This coming from someone who has used all three and compared them to Apple Mac OS and GNU/Linux alternatives. The .NET framework is an excellently designed programming and software development infrastructure, unparalleled in its elegance. Don't believe me? Ask all the Mac - and sometimes even Linux - users who have shot their boxes with M60s, frustrated because of the zillionth program that wasn't compatible with the OS. And ALL operating systems crash; it is a fundamental law in computer science - the bug-free program is nothing but a myth.
With a triple-boot setup on my computer, I find myself having to constantly reboot my system due to Mandrake 10.0 Linux's spectacular shortcomings - especially the harware compatibility woes. And what do I reboot into? Take a guess.....

Windows NT

A Microsoft Windows Operating system of decent quality, however antiquated. It does not support the new version of anything. However, despite these setbacks, it is still a decent computer for its time, and the basis of Windows 2000, and subsequently ME and XP.
Windows NT doesn't support the past 5 versions of Windows Media Player, but it runs. B|
