The act of engaging in sexual activity with an immediate family member acquired through marriage, i.e., step-brother, step-mother, etc. Not to be confused with incest, which would be performed with a blood relative and includes family members outside of siblings, parents, and children (e.g., uncles, close cousins). A prominent theme in the adult entertainment industry, it is markedly less prevalent in the real world. Step-incest is typically frowned upon in polite society, although cases do exist wherein couples can be "grandfathered out," so to speak, if they were doin' the deed before their parents got together.
