The college preparatory school is a school for rich white kids and transgenders that got bullied in middle school. The teachers there are extremely bitchy and don't deserve their very high paycheck. It is astonishing this school is ranked when it is one of the shittiest schools on the planet. It is often shortened to CPS which stands for can't play sports or cock pussy shit.

Nerd: I go to a very prestigious school, it's called The College Preparatory School, I got in because I have money and I met a teacher at a strip club.

Rock music that is played on the Top 40 stations/Radio Disney/adult Top 40 and is liked by preps. Usually the singers sing about cleaned up, preppy topics such as girlfriends, boyfriends, going to the beach, having a lot of money, the prom, going to parties, etc. The guitars are not as heavy and the music is happier and more melodic.

Preppy rock: Boys Like Girls, Faber Drive, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Hawthorne Heights, Bowling for Soup, Jonas Brothers, All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy.
Real rock: Tool, Trapt, Nirvana, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Van Halen, The Doors, etc. Ocean Avenue is a true example of preppy rock.

Generally, the term "Preppy" is attributed to an individual who has lived that sort of lifestyle because of birth and social standing. The term "Preppy" is currently overused to describe Nouveau Riche and Upper middle- middle class fraternity/ sorority members who dress in "bright" colors hoping to symbolize that they "live" that sort of lifestyle. First off, it's a scam, it's faux. True Preppies don't event try to be Preppies, they just are. It cannot be catagorized.
The majority of people trying to pull off the preppy vibe can never hope to achieve the social standing or bank accounts of a true, blood blooded, prepster.
