Metal usually employs distorted guitars, extremely fast double bass, and bass that gives the guitars and/or drums a deeper tone. The vocals in metal can be clean and melodic or growls and screeches. Growling is also known as screaming, and these type of vocals is usually why people think that metal is horrible, and usually stereotype the entire metal genre as "no talent, random playing, horrible screaming nonsense." Metal songs also employs solos, which usually includes immense shredding in guitar solos, and extremely fast playing in drum solos.

Truly, atrocious popular youthmusic from which the listeners actually think its underground. A few subgenres that do not apply to that rule are technical metal, math metal and black metal
