1. A genre of
music evolved from punk, and has many different styles, from
slow and chunky, to fast and light. Metal usually employs distorted guitars, extremely fast double
bass, and
bass that gives the guitars and/or drums a deeper tone. The vocals in metal can be clean and melodic or growls and screeches. Growling is also known as screaming, and these type of vocals is usually why
people think that metal is horrible, and usually stereotype the entire metal genre as "no
talent, random playing, horrible screaming nonsense." Metal songs also employs solos, which usually includes immense shredding in guitar solos, and extremely fast playing in drum solos.
2. A type of material, with many different varieties. Usually a good conductor of heat. Metal is very sturdy and used as frames and supports. Also makes the body cars.
