both sexes wera rugby shirts with collars up. Used to wear burgundy or even red jeans, but I believe this practice has died out. Some of these people are just plain nasty.

In Korea, this is an expression/outburst used when someone has been embarrassed, offended or annoyed.

Or, used to object something.

Example 1:

Wife-"I swear his snoring kept me up all night."

Husband-"Yah! I don't snore."

Example 2:

Friend 1: You were totally wasted last night.

Friend 2: Yah! I only had one drink...

Yah, short form of the name of the Creator, Yahweh (Yah Weh?) as found in the Hebrew Bible. Seen as "-jah" or "-iah" at the end of many Biblical and/or Hebrew names.

PSALM 68:4,
