Tamagotchi

The original electronic pet from 1996. Care for it, play with it, clean up it's dumps etc. There are many variants of the original Tamagotchi such as Angel, Forest and Ocean. It also spawned merchandise, a PC version, and Game Boy games. These were very popular back in 1997.

Oh my Tamagotchi died. Come on! That was the 4th time this week.

Tamagotchi

Tamagotchi is a keychain lcd pet toy released by bandai in 1996 and became a commercial success. Tamagotchi is made from two phrases: tamago meaning egg and uotchi meaning watch the reason why it says watch is because while they were designing the tamagotchi they decided for it to be a watch but that design was cancelled and then they decided for an egg shape which became the iconic shape of all tamagotchi releases.
The watch design does get reused for two releases, the tamagotchi smart and the tamagotchi uni.
