Nicole and Bryce were so sad because after losing a beer pong game, they had to crown Eric and Jeremy with the title team RTS - Respect the Swag.

respect the spot

Respect the Spot is a common phrase typically used by automotive enthusiasts (street racers) when announcing or planning a rally location to meet other fellow enthusiasts. In laymen's terms, it simpy states that you should act like a responsible adult incuding picking up your own trash. It mainly denotes barring anyone from bringing ANY WEAPONS, ALCOHOL, DRUGS, OR TROUBLESOME PEOPLE TO THE MEETING LOCATION. This also includes REVVING YOUR ENGINE OR ATTEMPTING TO DO BURNOUTS, DRIFITNG or RACING at the spot as it attracts unwanted attention from the heat.

This phrase usually goes without saying and generally is respected with a few common instances of abuse from crapbox ricers and those who really feel the need to compensate for something.

Don't be an asshole and ruin the fun for everyone. Respect the spot and rive safe!!!

Buddy: "Hey did you hear about what went down at the parking garage meet last Sunday?!"

Me: "I heard there were ricers revving and peeling out.. hence all the cops showing up.."

Buddy: "They started writing tickets and impounding vehicles just because a few assholes couldn't respect the spot!"

City Side Respect

A cultural slang originating from the southern part of Montreal. Often used by street hockey-playing teenagers who get cross-checked to the floor by their friends, and land next to the sidewalk.

Shel: Why would you cross-check me to the floor?

Dom: This is street hockey, get used to it.

Shel: Start showing some City Side Respect or else you won't be getting any from me.

Dom: City Side Respect isn't a thing, and it will never be a thing, ja feel?

self-respect

It means proud of who you are, even with the mistakes you made in the past. It means looking yourself in the mirror and thinking "This guy has his shit straight." While you reflect on your past life, you should smile and think "man I'm awesome." It means not using alcohol, drugs or violence to solve problems. To overcome and oppress those who bring you down. Whatever hurts you only makes you stronger. It's to think that you are a good person, but not to the point of arrogance or narcissism. You don't have to be the smartest kid in your class,you don't have to make a million dollars a year and you don't have to be popular to have self esteem and self respect.

I never done drugs, drank, got arrested and I have no record. Though I was not the most popular kid in school and I my grades aren't the greatest, I have to much self-respect to change who I am. I have a part time job at the city pound and I am currently in college working towards my degree.
