Oofah-Doofah

The exclamation one makes when overstimulated with joy and happiness.

Often sung in a sing-song voice and accompanied with a shoulder sway.

Can also be used to express exasperation.

Although opposite in meaning this word means both things dependant upon the tone and expression the person is using.

Human: Oofah-Doofah! I am so excited to go on this roadtrip!

GIRL: Oofah Doofah! Doofah da doofah doo.

BOY (thinks to himself): WOW...that girl over there must be in a really good mood!

Human:Oofah-Doofah! I am sooo ready to get home from this loooong roadtrip!

GIRL: Oofah-Doofah...(sigh)

BOY (thinks to himself): WOW. Poor girl over there. She seems so oofah doofah dooo.

a contemporary expression indicating pleasant unexpected surprise, such as: 1. WOW! 2. Hey! This is incredible! 3. My goodness that's good! (this definition of "oofda" is the antithesis of the old Norwegian term of utter dismay, "uffda", however like many words in our modern western culture, "oofda" can be used in a variety of ways).

Ooftah

Showmanship required on your part to people you perceive to be your better than you in society. Originally used to describe a black man who sold out to a white man (yessum mister, whatever you say) before segregation laws were shown as UN-Constitutional.

Louis Armstrong was considered to be an ooftah by members of his race because many believed it was required to reach his stardom prior to segregation to being abolished.
