The film industry's version of the RIAA. While they have many duties, their most controversial is no doubt their part in the ongoing copyright wars. Like the RIAA, disliked because when threatened by a new technology, instead of learning to use it to their advantage they try to hit it with a really big legal hammer. Betamax, anyone? They never learn...

An organization that likes to intimidate suburban kids, and shutdown perfectly illegal but nice websites. Said company also has flare for overdramatic slogans which are meant to frighten off pussy n00bs. Literally a mafia like organization that uses coercion tactics.

-1 "oh no the MPAA shut down another website" -2 "don't worry there are hundreds of ways for you to get illegal movies without the MPAA finding out for example one(in steps)- 1. buy a dvd burner 2. get the free DVD shrink software 3. get a one month blockbuster membership 4. Buy a pack of 100 DVD+r 5. Enjoy getting hundreds of movies for about 20$(averages out to 20 cents per movie"

MPAA 

The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) is a self-regulatory rating board and anti-piracy film organization. The group was established to keep major companies in the motion entertainment industry. On this website, the organization receives criticism - due largely to it's censorship of movies. Furthermore, users of the platform have also been critical of the board's discrimination of sexual content compared to violence. Although many people dislike the MPAA, some parents find it to be a convenient way of preventing their children from seeing material that they disapprove of.

The MPAA is hated by this community.

MPAA Syndrome 

This is a condition named after the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) which causes people to veiw sex-related things as inappropriate, yet be perfectly fine with violence. Sufferers also find homosexualaly much worse than being straight.

When asked to explain why somthing is inappropriate, the will often say "those ideas do not need to be put into children's heads" but will not actually beable to explain why somthing is bad.

Kid: "Can I see this movie?"
Parent: "No, it's rated R"
Kid: "So?"
Parent: "It could have sexual content in it."
Kid: "You have MPAA Syndrome!"

MPAA'd

MPAA'd - the equivalent of "pwned," but suggesting a cheap, unsportsmanlike victory.

1. The peer-to-peer website was MPAA'd and shut down the next month.

2. John was bragging about his chess skills all night, but he stopped after I MPAA'd him by taking every single one of his pieces before finally deciding to put him out of his misery with a checkmate.

What he didn't know is that I move the pieces when he isn't watching.
