This word was used in the mid-late 1980’s and 1990’s, and was used to describe non-consensual
inconspicuous tracking and surveillance, usually referring to electronic means, like low powered RF trackers or
transmitter bugs.
Low: unbeknownst to the trackee. Jack: derived from hi-jack.
It is where the concept for the movie “Freejack” came from, and the name of the brand for anti-theft device for cars
originated.

the package they were carrying was lowjacked.
