Related terms include kaijū eiga (怪獣映画 kaijū eiga?, monster movie), a film featuring giant monsters or a single monster; kaijin (怪人?, referring to roughly humanoid monsters); and daikaiju (大怪獣 daikaijū?, giant kaiju), specifically meaning the larger variety of monsters. Kaiju are typically modeled after conventional animals, insects or mythological creatures such as vampires, werewolves, mummies and zombies, fall into this category. Frankenstein's monster Kaiju are sometimes depicted as cannon fodder serving a greater evil. Some kaiju are elite warriors which serve as the right-hand man to the greater villain and are destroyed by the heroic forces. Others have a neutral alignment, only seeking to destroy buildings and other structures. During the early eras of tokusatsu, "heroic" monsters were rarely seen in daikaiju eiga films, and it was not until later when television tokusatsu productions began using kaiju which aided the hero, saved civilians, or demonstrated some kind of complex personality. These kaiju adopted many classic monster traits, appearing as the "Misunderstood Creature". Some kaiju hung out with the heroes and provided comedy relief, in contrast to the darker approach to these characters

Though rarely, if ever, used in a crime, Kalifornistan has outlawed what they deem to be "evil" rifles - such as the AR-15 (civilian variant of the military M16) and the AK-47 - in any non-California legal variation. Having a number of "evil" features (such as a forward pistol grip, which is no more dangerous than having a tuna fish as a weapon) are limited in the number allowed on a given firearm. Any magazine above 10 rounds is illegal, since only the 11th shot fired from a firearm can kill someone.
The legislation put forth by the People's Republic of Kalifornistan has clearly worked, as Los Angeles still tops the list as one of the most dangerous places in the United States.

With an extremely intense psychological plot, all fans of a good series such as Death Note should watch this show immediately. All fans of crap like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tale should stay away from it though. Code Geass fans should probably stay away too. By Nobuyuki Fukumoto, this series follows the life of Kaiji Ito and all the shit that he goes through. Has a weird art style that you'll only appreciate once you actually follow the series. Two anime seasons have been produced by Madhouse thus far.
Also, Kaiji is very very intense. A real man's anime.
