godmoding

When one plays a character that can never be destroyed, harmed, etc. The character, however, can hurt and/or kill the other characters without giving the other characters a chance.

This is highly illegal in most, if not all, roleplays.

Sarah = Regular player
Bob = Godmodder

-Sarah aims her arrows at Bob and then releases-
-Arrows go through Bob and Bob jumps up and reaches into Sarah's chest and drags out her beating heart, squeezing the life out of it and killing her-

godmodding

Mispelling of Godmoding & God Modding in rpg and forum settings, thus the meaning is the same. The term applies to "Godly-modification" or "Godlike-modification" to a character, through skills such as evasion and the like, as well as the character's personality which usually consists of a superior "I know all, see all, and am all", et cetera. The singlemost annoying and obnoxious gamers on the planet. Tend to act like 7 year olds when they don't get their way during games of pretend, i.e. - Bang, you're dead! Yeah huh, I killed you and you can't play anymore!

Godmodding Bill not only managed to magically know the secret base's true location, but also passed all of the armed guards by hopping from tree to tree like a natural-born monkey, and managing to rewire the electric locks which were state-of-the-art using a paperclip and a piece of fuzz from his pocket. Once inside, Bill used his deadly and artful bare hands (along with a combitionation of poison that he had learned in one week to brew in his toilet) to take down 38 of the guards and dogs, inside. That done, it was a mere task of busting through fifty-eight doors and cartwheeling gracefully through the laser beams, before waltzing into the innermost vault and plucking up the plans for complete world domination.

an individual in the online gaming community who is known for colossally excessive alcohol consumption, unpredictable, erratic behavior, random geysers of vitriolic venom and misplaced hatred for any players or game admins. can never be trusted with server admin under any circumstances. sometimes referred to lovingly as "Modie" - loves de_doomhouse

A term used by some rpgers. Means to make your character god-like, having extreme powers, and control over everything and everyone.

They may be immortal, or unable to die
Or just unbeatable.

Goemon

Ishikawa Goemon was the most famous 'THIEF' in Japan. Many novels, plays ,and video games are based on him. It isn't known for a fact if he existed, but there are many legends about him. Generally he is known as BIG thief in the Edo era. It is said that he was excuted under order of king in big pot of boiling oil.

Goemon was a Japanese robin hood.

Godmoder

Generally speaking under forum Role Play based turns a godmoder is someone who seems to be all powerful, using the strongest attacks, somehow always hitting their opponent and having the uncanny ability to dodge everything thrown at them, compared to literate RPers godmoders appear as bafoons, it's odd that there are still so many of them about in this crazy world,

Godmoder Bob: Bob laughs as fred's kamikaze attack capable of wiping out half the world is absorbed by Bobs magic crystal
Godmoder fred: luckily Fred is half pheonix, able to return to life
normal player: For the love of God, stop it...stop it now, I can't take it anymore...too much godmoding....KILL ME NOW!
