The mall that hasn't had a successful redevelopment because in reality nothing would replace it. It should have been left alone instead of demolished, but unless they build another Eastland, people know that something will always be missing, and that they fucked up by taking it from them. It's like a neighborhood that no longer exists, it's gone forever now.

Get the eastland middle school mug.A mall that at one time didn't need new life on site, since people loved going there and skating at the ice rink. There is nothing that will replace it, no matter what gets built there now. Somebody thought it would be better if it crumbled than if it was still standing, and people allowed it to happen, the same way they did Thunder Road.
Eastland Mall didn't really need to be lost, and there's not anything they could build that would replace it. Sometimes something was already done right once, then somebody came along trying to destroy it, and it won't ever be right again, it's gone.
