Child's Play (2019)

Not as good when it's not Charles Lee Ray.
Hym "I actually just watched Child's Play (2019) the other day because you know how much I love me some Aubrey Plaza (And I wrote about this a while back) but what make Child's Play so compelling is the fact that Charles Lee Ray is this homicidal manic who is also magic. I had to watch the original one to wash the taste out of my mouth immediately afterwards and there's this part in the original where Andy's mom is trying to get Chucky to talk and she threatens to throw him in the fire. He starts cussing her out 'You stupid bitch! You slut! I'll reach you to mess with me' and it's just great. And THIS... Is kind of like that. I'm like Andy's mom and you're like the Chucky and that is exactly why I don't give a fuck about your kids. So no. What you need to do is stop using your kids as a pretense to infest other people's lives and/or curate their rights or you need to explode. Just like Chucky. You gotta blow him up. Or you know that the recycled plastic is just going to get used to make another doll and then he'll just come back and try to steal your kids body and then Chucky is you kid! And that's no good for anybody."

Childsplain

When you ask a child (typically your own) a question about something in the current culture that you don’t understand or know, typically: the name of a song, what show a character was from, or the name of a meme and they reply with a long winded answer that often includes the history of the creator, why they created it and/or social media platform of origin along with it’s subsequent platform postings and variants.

This is usually done in a condescending tone and may include an eye roll, over the top hand gestures and visual aids.
My daughter childsplained the entire Steven Universe show, characters, and plot to me as though I had never seen it after I asked her the name of the theme song when I heard it play in a TikTok because I had forgotten the name of it .
