The sons and daughters of the past generation of hippies. Similar to, if not synonimous with, Yuppie.

They tend to go to Starbucks and take advantage of the Wi-fi available there. Will also go to Panera Bread Company if craving bread. (Wi-fi also available at Panera.)

Short for Young Urban Professional, they tend to stray away from their parent's traditions and accept a more ecclectic lifestyle paying outrageous amounts of money for coffee, clothes, and other things.

Robbie the yupster had to check his email to see if his order for his custom Marc Ecko shirt had gone through, so he decided to go to Starbucks to grab some coffee as well.

Yupster

A mix of hipster and yuppy. 99% of all reported hipster sightings are actually yupster sightings.

Karen: "I saw a TV documentary once where this market researcher who is my age asked a load of people with beards if they were hipsters. They said they weren't and the host became confused. Now I'm confused. Why don't they admit it?"
Male Karen: "Yeh, and how come hipsters have so much money if they're all artists?
Margot: "You've confused them with yupsters. Hipsters are not immediately visible in London because they're doing cool stuff that nobody really knows about. Yupsters are the first people outside of the movements to pick up on new cultural notes and are the first to spoil and invalidate them. But they do have a lot of money to popularise and flaunt it because they invariably have boring desk jobs. The final gentrification of ideas occurs when then yuppies catch hold of what the yupsters are doing. By this point the hipsters have left long ago due to rent rises."

An individual who holds both the characterisitcs of a yuppie and a hipster. They are usually successful in business and feel special or unique for liking the underground indie culture.

For the yipster, the term 9 to 5 is reversed. They will work until 9pm, then go out and party at an underground club til 5am...and make it back at work by 10.
