Turn Signal 

A set of lights on a vehicle that, when activated by the driver, flash in pairs in the direction of a turn.

Dumbass 1: is that where we're supposed to turn?"
Dumbass 2: "Yes! Put your turn signal on!"
Dumbass 1: "why would I ever do that???"
Dumbass 2: " so people behind us know that we're going to be making a turn!!!'

it's when a driver either turns without using their turn signal or when a driver has the turn signal on but doesn't make a turn.

the red BMW slowed the whole lane down when everyone saw they were signaling to turn but were "turn signal psyched" by going straight through the intersection.

Boston Turn Signal 

A lude gesture involving the extension of the third finger on the left hand out the window of a moving vehicle. While this gesture is most often reserved for the operator of the vehicle, passengers in the front and rear may be recruited as needed. ie. flying the bird as an excuse for driving like a masshole.

Jonny flashed his Boston turn signal as he cut off all the oncoming traffic.

California Turn Signal 

Flipping the bird, usually to another driver, either upon witnessing an act of pure idiocy or during road rage.

That old fart is doing 20 under the limit in the carpool lane....give 'em the California Turn Signal, will ya?

Illinois Turn Signal 

When a driver from Illinois suddenly veers into your lane for no reason, with no turn signal whatsoever. Usually performed at high speed, and when no other cars are in the vicinity.

The idea to teach the concept of "turn signals" has been floated through years in Illinois driver's ed schools, but nothing serious has come of it.

Outside of Illinois, it is most often seen by Wisconsin and Indiana residents due to the prevalence of FIBs.

Maryland turn signal 

When you turn your turn signal on when you are already in the process of changing lanes

In high traffic I use the Maryland turn signal when changing lanes so I don't get blocked out
