The live-action film Guardians of the Galaxy, based on the comic book and team (2008 version), is scheduled to be released on August 1, 2014 (though the date could change). It will be directed by James Gunn, based on a screenplay written by Nicole Perlman, Chris McCoy, and Gunn.
