technovice

Someone who is new to technology. A non-geek.

Anything new has a tendency to invoke fear, wariness and distrust. Newcomers to the technoscene are commonly assailed with pejoratives: but we were all newbies once; and every one of us remains a noob in some field of human endeavour - nobody knows it all.

The term 'technovice' is a more polite, welcoming term. It says, "Hi there friend, I see you're new here, do you need a hand?" whereas "FOAD you loser n00b!" simply pollutes cyberspace.

The word can be read as 'tech'+'novice', describing the present state of the user's knowledge (or rather, lack of it): but hidden within is the suggestion of things to come, when read as 'techno'+'vice' :)

"Mandy's a real technovice, I had to show her where the power switch was on her PC."

technoliterate

Someone who is versed in many forms of techno (technically known as electronica), from house to trance to progressive to tribal, etc. This person will have a variety of fly techno beats in their collection of techno. You may find many such people at clubs and festivals specializing in such music.

Dude, we got a soccer game in 15 minutes! We need some techno to pump us up, what do you got?

Practically OCD, but more focused on organizing cyberspace data.

Usually indicated by super organized folders and files.

Most often associated with men, not necessarily geeks.

The end result of becoming so infuriated at a piece of technology that one renders it useless by throwing it into a wall, dropping it out a window, taking a baseball bat to it, shooting it, etc. just to show once and for all who really is lord and master. See Office Space.

Ted couldn't stand his cellphone dropping every third call due to a malfunctioning internal antenna, so he committed technicide by renting a steamroller for an hour and running over it while Bill recorded the video on Ted's new phone.

Technodeism

Technodeism is a spiritual-intellectual theory that advocates it is possible to find God, gods and spiritual beings by technology, developing technology for research for them as people research for aliens. Technodeism also advocates studies on extraphysical mechanics and on extraphysical technology in order to facilitate the research for gods and spiritual beings as a whole.

Technodeism is considered as a consequence of extraphysicism, so basically, technodeism would be a research area in a transhumanist society since people there would research for gods and spiritual beings as people research for aliens nowadays.
