Word said when knocking an item out of somebody's hands. Item can be knocked upward, downward, or to either side. The objective is to yell the word while in the act.

Spandau Prison in Europe housed many prisoners including World War II Nazi prisoners. When these prisoners were hanged the swinging of the dead body was called the Spandau Ballet.

That SS officer did a nice Spandau Ballet at his hanging.

The musical group Spandau Ballet took their name from this chilling term.

Spandan

Heartbeat. Not so common Bengali name. Hrit-Spandan means Heart-Beat (Hrit from Hridoy, meaning Heart). It is pronounced as Spon-don ("spawn" and "dome" with n instead of m). However, non-Bengalis don't give a fuck and hence call it Sapandan, Spanndannn, etc.

An 80's derogatory term for an obsessive fan of new romantic music or other new wave bands with funny haircuts. Originates from the pop group Spandau Ballet and was heavily used in the Santa Barbara, CA area.

Look at those spandaus listening to Depeche Mode in the quad. Is that guy wearing makeup?
