PWN originally came from PW OWN (password own) from the early days of PHISHING (<><'ing) -not WOW and not typos. Im sure the alliance and horde will assimalate to PWN all matters off 1eetness. (But they shall not claim this one.)

PWN (verb)

1. An act of dominating an opponent.

2. Great, ingenious; applied to methods and objects.

Originally dates back to the days of WarCraft, when a map designer mispelled "Own" as "Pwn". What was originally supose to be "player has been owned." was "player has been pwned".

Pwn eventually grew from there and is now used throughout the online world, especially in online games.

2. "This strategy pwns!" or "This game pwn."

Stemming from the misspelling of the word "owns", being that the "p" key is right next to the "o" key. It does not mean the possesive "owns", but as in a form of domination, such as in a game or sport.

Dude, he pwns you at Halo.
He pwns all of you at basketball.

Pwn

The word Pwn was originally a typo from when the writer wanted to say Own. Pwn is commonly used in internet games, for example: Counter-Strike. Pwn is used to explain that the player was badly beaten.
