A weak guy/girl. A mollycoddle keeps on telling the world that they are strong, or that the group they're a part of is strong, to the point that most other people would be considered braggarts if they did the same thing.

The mollycoddle talks about being strong, but never tells you about backstabbing people that knew him/her, whining about not getting something he/she were sure they deserved, or the world he/she retreats and hides from when he/she considers it scary.

Mollycoddle

A self-absorbed, narcissistic female who desperately has to find some other guy, any other guy to call a self-absorbed narcissist (since a guy can handle and bear the title) to reassure herself that there are more people like her than not.

Lindsay never did like hearing sobering news about herself (which was a lot like going to somebody's funeral without being loaded the entire time to her), so she would always point to somebody else when somebody let her know she was a mollycoddle.

Someone that can't take criticism that is otherwise not unfair or illegitimate because they don't like it.

It's one thing to feel outraged by criticism that isn't based on what a person is really like, when it is full of falsehoods and malicious intent and the other person is just talking shit. Nobody likes to be criticized, but really it's a matter of whether the criticism makes sense or is not unfair to the other person, and it doesn't have to be good natured to be legitimate. To a mollycoddle, it all sounds like abuse or misjudgement.

Mollycoddle

A form of helicopter parenting which causes parent's children to lack independence and autonomy, so when shit goes down when they move out, they call on their parents to help them out whether that is being short on money and have to pay bills because they haven't been taught by their parents on how to spend money responsibly in order to save money to pay for essentials. Some people who have been mollycoddled as children end up living with their parents in their 30s, can't do anything for themselves such as cooking, tying their own shoelaces or shaving. Basically all they do is play fortnite in their mum's basement and play fortnite or roblox.

Mollycoddling is poor parenting and if you are one of those parents, just stop because you are making it harder for yourself rather than easier as you have to further look after a fully grown ass person who is more than capable of self-care. Don't mollycoddle.
