Literate but Tired

Making minute grammatical errors though being completely literate when running on low doses of sleep.

Oh my gosh--did I just say 'specialer'? So not a word. And I know that....because I am fully literate but tired. At least I know 'a lot' is two words.

dictionary-literate

means of communicating the definition by use of words/phrases like "of or relating to" and "thereof" that give definitions that little kick of genious and sparkle

"This definition on urban dictionary is stupid."
"No, it's not, it sounds like a credible piece of information, what with all those big words and phrases shoved in it in places."
"The writer was obviously dictionary-literate."

Any Literates?

The questioned used when entering a room full of nubcakes with no sense of literacy. This can often be the cause of hopping rooms. Apparently, nubs search for other nubs, and literates search for literates. Its just the way it is...

*player 2 joins the chat* "Hey, any literates?"

*chat room goes about their prattling with their ungrammatical, catachrestic, word use*

*player 2* "I guess not..."
-player 2 leaves the chatroom-

*nub* "stop hopping why they hop?"

eye-literate

How you might feel when you want to use a word in conversation that you're familiar with in reading and writing, you know perfectly well what it means, but you've never heard it spoken, and have no idea how to pronounce it.

"It doesn't matter how many times you click on Font Color. Changing red text to red again won't make a difference. It's eye-dem-... id-em-..." (thinking, "How the *$%^& do you pronounce 'idempotent'??? Guess that makes me eye-literate.")

Literate kid

Someone on the internet who uses perfect grammar when they talk; Usually thinks highly of themselves. Most literate kids only talk to other literate kids, and see anyone else as stupid.

boy1 : hey u know were i can find sum free music?
boy2 : Ew, ever heard of a thing called grammar? You should try it sometime.
boy1 : cn u just tell me were i can get free music??
boy2 : Yeah, when you start typing so I can understand you. Dictionary.com, retard.

literateur

One who is almost obnoxiously acquainted with literature, and frequently reminds others of this fact.

A 'literateur' would immediately recognize the Dickensian reference if one wrote the word "humble" as "'umble", and would make damn sure you knew he/she knew you knew.
