The ritual that every shy YouTuber who cares about their Internet privacy is forced to participate in before they die or quit YouTube without explanation. When enough people bombard a YouTuber to reveal their eyes, mouth, nose, chin, hair and/or forehead, the YouTuber usually must comply to not be on bad terms with their fans. A typical face reveal involves taking off a mask and revealing your face, as well as any other personal comments that you would have liked to make.
An example of a failed face reveal was that of DreamWasTaken, when people kept asking him to do a face reveal. He then did a fake face reveal in MrBeast's YouTube Rewind 2020 and then a real one just casually dropped on October 3, 2022, also revealing his real name as "Clay". People then made memes and jokes about him being ugly and looking like various other people from Shane Dawson to Lord Farquaad from Shrek, leading to him deleting said face reveal on June 11, 2023 and then putting it back on the Internet later for no good reason
