Dope 

In the past, and still in some localities, any kind of drug, including “soft” drugs like marijuana. Currently most often used used specifically for heroin. Regional variation can cause confusion.

The antidrug commercials (often featuring marijuana), tagline: “Why do you think they call it dope?”

“Shooting yourself with dope (heroin) is just less efficient than using a gun.”

“Someone scored some great dope and we smoked all day.”
